Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need therapy?

If you’re asking the question, that’s already a sign. You don’t need to be in crisis to start seeking help. Therapy can help with stress, managing emotions, and personal growth too.

What does a therapy session look like?

I like to take a guided conversational approach. You can tell me the good, bad and the ugly. Together we will work through whatever your concerns may be.

What if I don’t know what to say or I am uncomfortable talking about certain topics?

That’s completely normal. I will help guide the conversation. Only if it’s relevant and/or you’re ready will we cover things that you are uncomfortable with.

Do I have to fear judgement during our sessions?

No. Therapists are trained to be non-judgmental. We can work through the “tough” stuff when you’re ready.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes—with a few exceptions. These include safety concerns, signed releases of information and court orders. I value your privacy and maintain HIPPA compliance.

How long does it take therapy to actually start working for me?

Everyone is different. My individual approach is “Therapy that works with you, not for you.” Some people go for a few months, others longer. It’s not a one-size-fits-all timeline.

How do I know you're the best therapist for me?

Connection is key. It’s okay to shop around until you find someone you feel comfortable with. My goal is to guide you to wellness not push you away from getting help.

Do I have to come to your office for therapy?

No. I offer both in-person and video sessions. Together, we will determine which is the best option for you.
